The WACA social prescribing team were on hand at the World Diabetes Day Event held in Keighley on November 15th with other stakeholders to educate patients on symptoms and signs to look out for, help signpost patients to additional community support, offer blood pressure checks, covid and flu vaccinations and talk to patients about medication options.
Vanessa Laber from Diabetes UK said " For me it was brilliant to have so many fantastic stakeholders in one place. We were able to signpost people to all of the other stakeholders where relevant, and some really quality conversations were had"
The GR8 Minds Team were on hand at the Clarke Foley Centre in Ilkley on Friday 10th November, offering support and advice to parents and carers of young people with a learning disability or Autism
Patients of Ling House Medical Centre will be able to acess a drop-in Social Prescribing clinic at Highfield Community Centre, Keighley, on Tuesday's 28th November, 19th December and 16th January. The clinics will run from 1pm to 2.30pm, no appointment is necessary and help and advice will be available for lifestyle and welfare matters, social support and practical help.
