WACA Primary Care Network have recently formed a partnership with two Mental Health Networks , to provide better support for Patients, closer to home. More than 1,500 people have benefited in the first 12 months and feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive, with some users saying it’s “lifesaving”.
For Patients Living in Craven:
If you live in Craven, you can now access the Craven Mental Health & Wellbeing Hubs Network , which is open to anyone over 18 years old experiencing issues with their mental health. Managed by Pioneer Projects, it provides Wellbeing Cafés and quieter groups in partnership with The Place in Settle, Grassington Hub, Glusburn Institute, St. Andrew’s Church Hall Skipton, Broughton Road Community Centre Skipton, Greatwood & Horseclose Community Centre Skipton, and Skipton Step into Action.
Support ranges from a cup of tea and a chat, and involvement in creative and social activities, through to 1-1 keyworker support, and access to wellbeing focused groups and courses. The Wellbeing Cafes are ‘drop in’ sessions, so you can just turn up on the day, but if you want to access some of the higher level support, like key working, or wellbeing courses, you can get a referral from the Social Prescriber at your GP practice. If you wish to self -refer to the Craven Wellbeing Network, you can contact directly through Pioneer Projects: 015242 62672

Wider Community Mental Health Transformation Plans :
Over the next few years, there will be some important changes will be made to the way community mental health services are going to be delivered in Bradford District and Craven. These changes will improve the way people with severe mental illness access services within their community.
An investment of £39 billion is being made available nationally by 2023 to help better integrate mental health services into communities. This is a major investment in community mental health transformation work to improve service delivery and aims to address the significant inequalities people with severe mental illness face.
NHS England have put together a short video which describes what community mental health transformation is and how it will benefit people with severe mental illness (SMI). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8x-WxYcSBo8&t=5s.
